Why Do People Kiss The Blarney Stone?


You may have heard that people who visit Cork, Ireland, do so mainly to visit Blarney Castle and kiss the infamous Blarney Stone.
Kissing the stone is said to give the curious pecker, "Blarney". Well, what is Blarney?

Blarney is the 'gift of eloquence' or, in modern parlance, the 'gift of gab'.

For over two centuries, visitors have come to this ruinous castle to kiss the stone and be bestowed the the gift of gab.

Young and old, rich and poor, have all come to this place and climbed up the top of the mystical castle to take their place in history.
